The people of Archaeological Services are experienced professional archaeologists. Dr. Beverly Chiarulli, the program’s Director, has eight years of experience with the Bureau of Historical Preservation of the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, providing her with knowledge of the complexities of the legal bureaucratic aspects if archaeological work. Dr. Sarah Neusius, Principal Archaeologist and Zooarchaeologist for Archaeological Services, utilizes her professional training to oversee the laboratory activities and procedures at IUP. In addition to these and other very qualified staff members, Archaeological Services taps its most abundant resource, the students.
