The Fifth Annual Conference on Historic Preservation and Transportation Projects, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, the Federal Highway Administration, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, Preservation Pennsylvania, and Indiana University of Pennsylvania, will be held May 19th and 20th, 2004 , in the Eberly Auditorium, at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. 

        The Fifth Annual Byways Conference will feature  a plenary session on Transportation and Heritage Tourism, individual sessions on a variety of topics, the Third Annual Pennsylvania Division FHWA Excellence Awards in Historic  Preservation, and a number of Pre-Conference Workshops. As always, Byways offers the Commonwealth’s best and most comprehensive opportunity to learn about the goals, achievements, and challenges of building and maintaining the transportation network of the future while retaining the fabric of the past!
